Pocket Rockets Have Landed: Vanquish Brands Enters a New Category
Vanquish has never been a company that chases trends. Since establishing Pistol and Paris as one of Canada’s most recognized brands, the team has built its reputation on a clear philosophy of heavy indica genetics, uncompromising quality, and packaging that commands attention on any shelf. That foundation hasn’t changed, but what has changed is the scope of their product offerings.
With the launch of Pocket Rockets, Vanquish is entering the infused pre-roll category and they didn’t come quietly.
Pocket Rockets are diamond-infused, kief-coated pre-rolls that come five to a tin at 0.5g each. Two strains are launching simultaneously: Blue Surfer, built on Blue Zushi whole flower (Zkittlez x Kush Mintz), and Redline, made with Pink Goo whole flower (Granddaddy Purple x Grape Ape x Northern Lights #5). Both carry THC levels of 37–43% and a terpene range of 3–9%, and both are finished with a hand-applied Dutch crown.
Blue Surfer leads with a berry-driven terpene profile and candy-like undertones which are smooth, flavourful, and elevated. Redline has a cherry-forward profile, punchy sweetness layered over a heavier, more intense smoke. Same format, two completely different experiences.
Built on Patience
This launch didn’t happen overnight, and that was intentional. “For years, people have been telling us to enter the infused category. We waited on purpose,” said CEO Dylan King. “We wanted the fundamentals locked in first with genetics, cultivation support, partner alignment, and production consistency. Now that those building blocks are solid, stepping into this space feels natural.”
King also sees Pocket Rockets as a genuine evolution for the brand rather than a departure from it. “Pistol and Paris has built its reputation on heavy indica ‘gas’ strains, and that will always be a huge part of who we are. But I also believe that if we stayed only in that lane, we would be ignoring where a large part of the market is heading and what many newer consumers are looking for.”
Making a small-format infused pre-roll perform the way Vanquish wanted it to is more complicated than the finished product suggests. “The biggest challenge is space. In a small-format pre-roll, every milligram has to pull its weight,” said Cody Rossi, Cannabis Supply & Production Coordinator. “You don’t have the luxury of extra room to hide inconsistencies. If the grind is off, if the diamonds aren’t distributed evenly, if the kief layer is too heavy or too light, the consumer feels it immediately.”
The project started roughly a year ago, and getting the burn right required more iteration than most consumers would expect. Diamonds, whole flower, and kief each behave differently under heat. Getting them to work together and not against each other meant testing micron sizes, diamond melt points, kief densities, and grind profiles through countless R&D cycles. “The goal wasn’t just potency, it was potency with control where the consumer gets a strong, clean, predictable hit every time.”
Nothing shipped until it cleared the same internal bar Vanquish sets for its non-infused products. Given that those already outperform much of what’s in the infused market, that’s not a low bar.
Packaging Worth Talking About
The tubes are hard to miss with bold colour-coded designs. Cyan for Blue Surfer, red for Redline, with the Pistol and Paris branding presented front and center. “I genuinely believe it’s some of the nicest and most eye-catching packaging in the market today,” said King.
Pocket Rockets are hitting shelves across Canada now and it’s one of the most significant product launches in the company’s history. “I truly believe these are going to make a massive splash across Canada, especially launching just in time for summer.”
For a brand that spent years building before it expanded, the patience appears to have paid off.
