Vanquish Brands Is Doubling Down: Inside the Expansion Reshaping Canadian Cannabis

There’s a certain kind of confidence that comes not from hype, but from infrastructure. For Vanquish Brands, that confidence is being built room by room, light by light. With this latest expansion, the company is making its most significant statement yet about where it’s headed.

Vanquish is doubling its square footage, adding more grow rooms, and production rooms. Twelve offices plus an official board room, and bringing capabilities in-house that were previously out of reach. It’s the kind of move that changes not just what a company can produce, but what it can become.

For CEO Dylan King, the core value of the expansion is straightforward. Vanquish has been challenged by a lack of space, and that struggle is now being removed. In his words, the expansion “allows us to significantly increase cultivation and production capacity and scale the business properly instead of being constrained by space, which means more product, more revenue, and the ability to grow into a much larger company.”

That growth touches every corner of the operation. Director of Cannabis Mike Bains points to the practical wins, including doubling grow space and adding an on-site hash lab that will allow the team to bring more work in-house. This means filling vapes and producing specialty infused pre-rolls, which is work that previously required outside support.

For Cody Rossi, Cannabis Supply and Production Coordinator, the expansion represents something the team has been working toward for some time: the ability to “fully dial in in-house cultivation while scaling processing capabilities to meet market demand with consistency.”

Production Manager Diane Hurtubise said that the gains are immediate and concrete. The expansion, she says, “allows us to increase production capacity by adding eight more dedicated rooms.” More than that, it addresses a pressure the team has been feeling acutely, rapid growth that has outpaced the current facility. The added space will reduce congestion and improve the separation of tasks and materials, making the operation not just bigger, but better organized and safer. On the team side, dedicated work areas mean people can focus on what they do best while staying better connected to the rest of the operation.

COO Lance Mudrie added that more space will allow Vanquish to execute operational plans that they’ve had to hold back on due to size constraints. With processing rooms now customized to the right operational size, product can move through the facility more efficiently, and the team can finally work the way it was designed to.

Mudrie also notes, with some relief, that the office situation is getting a long-overdue upgrade. The team has, in his words, “become very good at creating workstations in all sorts of areas.” More importantly, the expansion means jobs can be completed from start to finish within a dedicated space, without being interrupted because something higher priority needs the room.

Craft at Scale is Not a Contradiction

One of the persistent myths in Canadian cannabis is that scaling up means compromising on quality. It’s a belief Vanquish, and Dylan King in particular, pushes back on firmly.

“There’s a common misconception in the cannabis industry that ‘craft’ only applies to small-batch grows,” King explains. “People often assume that scaling automatically introduces risk or dilutes quality, but that usually comes down to one thing: a weak foundation. Whether you’re running a 20-light room or a 2000-light facility, the real differentiator is execution.”

King argues that the right systems, SOPs, and environmental controls make craft quality reproducible at any scale, and that it’s about intention and precision, not size. When it comes to protecting that quality, Vanquish’s approach is deliberate. While many producers have cut costs and shifted to cheaper inputs, Vanquish has gone in the other direction by continuing to source premium nutrients and materials while layering in new techniques, tighter data, and continuous refinement. The result, King believes, is a product that actually improves as the company scales, rather than one that merely holds the line.

One of the most exciting additions in this expansion is the new in-house hash lab. For Rossi, this isn’t just a production upgrade, it’s a creative one. The lab means Vanquish can pair elite flower with matching solventless SKUs and bring those combinations directly to customers. Bains adds that the team will be able to “make hash on site and release some new live rosin SKUs,” which is a meaningful addition to the menu for consumers who seek out premium concentrates.

Beyond the lab, the added canopy space opens up new possibilities for the cultivation program itself. The team is planning to hunt for their own genetics in-house, a shift that signals a deeper level of investment in the plant and in the uniqueness of what Vanquish brings to market.

“We’re positioning our cultivation team to be recognized as one of the best in Canada, and we finally have the infrastructure to prove it at scale,” said Rossi.

The expansion has real downstream implications for retailers and consumers. Vanquish’s flagship brand Pistol and Paris has already been working hard to keep pace with demand, which is a good problem to have, but a problem nonetheless. The added capacity addresses that directly, while also creating room for the company’s newest brand, Bonkers, to establish itself on shelves without competing for internal resources.

King also notes that the expansion creates space to deepen relationships with other brands in the Vanquish family including Go Smoke, Legendary, and Naturalrem, giving each the support they need to grow.

What comes through clearly in talking with the Vanquish team is that this expansion isn’t just about producing more, it’s about building the kind of company that can sustain and improve over time. The team comes from the legacy market, where quality wasn’t a marketing position but a survival requirement. That mentality is being preserved and built upon, not traded away in the name of scale.

The rooms are getting bigger. The menu is getting deeper. And Vanquish Brands is just getting started.
